From an early age I was as passionate about writing as I was about reading. My schooldays were spent dreaming of life as an author, and I was fortunate enough to turn that dream into a reality.
It was a long journey, and took in a varied succession of jobs from bingo hall assistant to marketing manager. In 2016 my first biography was published by The History Press, and my life was changed forever. The book was ‘In Search Of Anne Brontë’, and it gained great sales and critical acclaim being named ‘book of the week’ by The Mail On Sunday and gaining a nomination for the 2016 Slightly Foxed Best First Biography prize.
Since then I’ve written four more non-fiction books about the Brontë family as well as a biography of Guy Fawkes. I’ve been a guest on television documentaries and appeared at literary festivals across the country, including marking Emily Brontë’s 200th anniversary by giving a talk in Penzance – the town where Emily’s mother Maria was born.
My journey hasn’t stopped yet. I’m currently working on a commission for a new biography of a leading figure in the world of film and television, and I am also offering a range of professional writing and biography services. If you need some help becoming a published author, or if you’d like to talk to me about writing a biography of yourself or a loved one please do get in touch.
